About Cedar Hill Publishing In February of 2004... Becky Hayes and Marty Sorenson, a husband-wife team, were working regular jobs. Marty was in construction and Becky worked for a local self-publishing company. Then the world turned upside down. The owner of the self-publishing company offered Marty and Becky the opportunity to do something they loved, full-time -- and own the company. Six days later, the old company was dissolved, and Marty and Becky bought the office equipment, took on the remaining clients whose projects were untouched, and with no money in the bank, they set out to make Cedar Hill Publishing happen. And they did. They worked 12-15 hours a day, 7 days a week for over two years, and did all the work on the old clients for free, because those people had already paid their money to the old company. It didn't matter that Cedar Hill received none of that money -- it wasn't right to make the clients pay AGAIN. All of those old clients have been taken care of now, and several became repeat customers, publishing more than one book. Marty started his own company a year ago, doing something else entirely, and Becky continues to work for her clients. It's now 2008... Becky's always been an artist and writer (in that order) -- those are her two main talents -- but she didn't really find her medium until the advent of computers and desk-top publishing. Now, she works from home and still loves what she does to the extent that, when she's at home, she's at the computer. She answers her own phone, and responds to emails within minutes. Clients often become friends. If you decide to work with Cedar Hill Publishing, you can expect personal service geared toward the success of your book. Becky doesn't do online listings or outright promotion or representation, but in four years, she has learned a lot about the self-publishing industry and the best ways to market her clients' books. She shares the information generously and for free. Becky also offers services for beautiful posters, bookmarks, business cards, press releases and websites, all of which take full advantage of her artistic and writing talents. These additional marketing tools will help you with the promotion of your books and are all reasonably priced. And if you have favorite photos that are damaged, we can repair them! Old and faded photos can be enhanced to bring back most, if not all, of the detail. Stains, blotches, tears, rips, wrinkles, scratches and flecks of heaven-knows-what can all be removed. Colors can be adjusted to look more natural, too! You don't have to publish a book with us to get your photos fixed. All repaired images will be burned to a CD, so you can get new copies printed from the corrected versions.
