Our Artists

Our books don't look self-published, even though they are. So we provide our authors with artists who are capable of meeting or exceeding their needs, expectations, and visions for their books. They work in a variety of media, including pen and ink, pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, pastels, watercolors, oils and acrylics. What you see below is just a sample.

Children's books are often purchased on the quality of the artwork alone. Illustrations that are compelling, appealing, visually exciting, and make a reader smile at first glance will sell a book where the title, text or author's name alone have no impact. Artwork touches people in deep places and different ways, but a book with unappealing artwork will sit on the shelf, collecting dust, even if it is the story of the century.

Illustrations vary in complexity, and therefore in price. The price will range from $150.00 to $200.00 per image, depending on complexity. This price includes the image placement fee of $15.00.

Click on the small images here to see larger versions or collages, and click on the links to see whole galleries of their works, if the artist has a website. If you have questions, please contact us!

Left: Lisa M. Griffin is enchanting. Her art has such personality -- and whimsy -- and she's our newest artist! The faces of her characters convey both obvious and subtle emotion, and her use of color is inviting. She's an artist for children of all ages. I've had people tell me they bought a children's book just for the art it contained. Lisa is that kind of artist -- you want her work, regardless of the story behind it. Click the sample at left to see a composite of other samples. Then click here to visit her website. And contact us if you feel her work is a good match for the vision you hold for your book!
Right: Tabatha Carr is very good in many media. Her specialties include digital, chalk, airbrush, crayon, pencil, and pen. Click on the sample at right to see a collection. The ballerina illustration is done in chalk. The baby crawling is a pencil and charcoal drawing of her daughter. The house illustration is a drawing of two children playing house, done in digital chalk and airbrush.

Left: Marcia Buckpitt is an Arizona artist who specializes in the whimsical, fanciful and surrealistic. Her medium is acrylics, applied by airbrush. Her work is absolutely awesome and wonderfully suited to a variety of stories.

She loves to use animals, giving them very human characteristics, as evidenced by the sample here. Click the small image to see a larger composite of 5 images, and then contact us, if Marcia feels like the right artist for your children's book!

Right: Kathy O'Malley has joined Cedar Hill's collection of phenomenal artistic talents. Her work is extremely detailed, colorful, proportionally accurate and fanciful! She works in many media and is skilled in may styles.

Left: Our latest addition to a very qualified artistic staff is Hillary Freestone of Snowflake, Arizona. She works in most media, and has an eye for intricate detail. Her images are chock-full of whimsy, as indicated by this small image, but if you click on the small one, you will see a collage of her work in pencil. Contact us to see larger versions of the images in Hillary's collage.
Right: Holly Roomiani Weinstein is a Dallas artist with a different perspective. Her range is considerable, as you will see if you click on the image at right, which is linked to a small collection of her work. From caricature to portraiture, from whimsy to dramatic realism, if Holly's vivid images feel right for your book, contact us to get started. And click HERE to visit her website!
